Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ

Where there’s a theme, there’s a way! Sweet Baby Ray’s turned one last weekend and she celebrated with a beach BBQ and TONS of sweets! The party was fully equipped with every Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, fresh sunflowers by East End Flower Shop and a dessert bar that did not disappoint.

It was her first birthday, so let’s start with the smash cake. We did a very simple vanilla cake with a ‘naked’ vanilla buttercream- obviously baby Ray loved it. The large cake for everyone was a favorite too! A lemon cake with a simple textured buttercream was refreshing and fitting with the theme. The best part about this cake was the red and white gingham inside to match with all the decor. The cake sat on top of our clear Poppies for Grace cake stand that was filled with the fresh sunflowers.

The rest of the dessert bar was easy to grab and go, which was perfect for all the kids (or the parents chasing them). We added a chocolate dessert with the sunflower cupcakes, complete with chocolate sprinkle centers.

The desserts on a stick like the cake pops and rice crispy treats were definitely the favorite. We did a simple white frosting and red accents to keep it clean and pretty. I love the royal icing sunflower detail not the rice crispy treats!

Another hit were the burger cookies- a BBQ must have. Each cookie was a different layer of a cheese burger and everyone really I got a kick out of the ‘dessert imposters’.

Of course, what’s a dessert bar without macarons? These adorable macarons were filled with raspberry buttercream and lemon curd- fresh summery flavors that are SO yummy together. The hand piped sunflowers along the edge were a challenge but added such a sweet detail!

Such a fun theme to execute- everything came together so perfectly! The birthday girl enjoyed all the treats, and was a happy girl! Mission accomplished!
